About Monzer Taleb
Monzer Mostafa Taleb was born in Kuwait. Although he has been a US citizen for many years, he remains proud of his Syrian heritage.
Monzer has lived in Dallas since 1980. A telecommunication engineer and computer programmer by trade, he has since retired to enjoy time with his family.
Over the years, Monzer has served numerous roles as a community leader and motivational speaker. He has been actively involved in several school and mosque boards and is a frequent contributor to various nonprofit organizations.
Monzer has spent many years as a youth and adult mentor, conducting seminars on youth and teen issues, marriage, and adult life.
Educational background
Monzer attended the University of North Texas from September 1984 to December 1988, where he earned a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree in Computer Programming. He is especially proud of his educational achievements, having graduated as a full-fledged programmer and telecommunications engineer.
Monzer’s Professional Accomplishments
Monzer has a long list of accomplishments as a senior-level engineer. He has extensive experience in network rollout and has proven capability in growth-focused team settings.
One of Monzer’s specialties is coordinating with vendors and field personnel to maximize service capacity via cutting-edge hardware, software, and transport solutions. He has been promoted to Tier II and III and served as an engineer supervisor at Ericsson/T-mobile.
Monzer’s professional career began in 1992 when he served as the system manager for a local company until 1996. His responsibilities included administering, managing, and supporting the company’s operation department, as well as installing and testing software.
From 1996 to 2002, Monzer Taleb worked as the lead switch test engineer for Ericsson Inc. in Richardson, Texas. Primarily tasked with testing MSC hardware and software, he was also responsible for troubleshooting electronics circuits and managing software installations.
Monzer started his own computer and networking firm in 2003, working out of Dallas. An astute business owner, he established a sizable pool of clients, building, selling, and troubleshooting computers. He also offered a variety of networking services to a small but devoted customer base.
Monzer reentered the corporate workforce in 2005 when he began working for T-Mobile in Las Vegas as an O&M switch supervisor. In this role, he performed a variety of crucial tasks, including preparing daily performance metric reviews and analyzing and prioritizing identified issues for immediate action.
As a switch supervisor, Monzer Taleb worked closely with RF and operations groups to ensure the proper assignment and accomplishment of work orders. He was primarily responsible for reviewing WOs and MOPs, as well as ensuring adherence to the company standards for outage responses and repair times.
In addition, Monzer was responsible for ensuring that the technical teams acted consistently within the goals and objectives of the company. He has even been known to provide technical assistance to the technical team when the need came up.
By 2007, Monzer again began working for Ericsson, this time out of the company’s offices in Plano, Texas. There, he assumed the role of O&M engineer and was tasked with servicing MSC and BSC equipment for cruise ships and wave cell sites.
Monzer is also a multi-awarded motivational speaker with numerous local and national certifications.
Activities With Baitulmaal, Inc.
One of the highlights of Monzer’s adult life is his involvement with Baitulmaal, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Irving, Texas. With the mission of turning compassion into hope, the organization provides humanitarian aid to underserved communities and individuals around the world, regardless of faith or nationality.
As part of Baitulmaal, Monzer contributed to the group’s efforts to connect with mosques and other nonprofit organizations. His contributions played a key role in increasing the donations received by the Baitulmaal via beneficial connections with major donors during conventions and personal solicitations.
Among the services Baitulmaal provides are disaster and emergency relief, crisis response, and humanitarian aid. The organization is also heavily involved in economic development and educational assistance.
Monzer Taleb’s Personal Life
Monzer Taleb has been married for over 40 years to Bassiima Dandan, with whom he has four children. For the former engineer and programmer, raising a family is the greatest accomplishment of his life. Since being retired, he has spent much of his time in the company of his wife, children, and several grandchildren.
Along with his professional and personal accomplishments, Monzer is also a devoutly religious person who draws considerable strength from his spiritual beliefs. Just as he was raised by his parents, he instills the same fervent focus on faith in his family.
In line with his religious beliefs, Monzer is extremely committed to community involvement: He helped establish the youth center in Dallas and has been involved in volunteer work in many mosques in the area.
